Safeguarding Policy (a)

We recognise all the good work with children and young people going on in our parish and thank all the volunteers that give their time and commitment in this work.  We all have a responsibility to safeguard children through promoting their welfare, health and development in a safe and caring environment that supports their best interests and prevents abuse.

Relevant Statistics

Some facts and statistics which make stark reading and give us a sense of the extent of the changes that are needed:

• Six parishes in the diocese (Killaloe) currently have no resident priest;

• An additional 12 parishes would have no priest if it wasn’t for the generosity of service of many working beyond the age of 75;

Bereavement Support

Our parish has started a Bereavement Support Group. It is hoped to be able to offer parishioners who are bereaved our condolences and support, on behalf of the parish. If you wish to join the group, please call 086 3130656.

Our Parish – Attractions

The Killaloe Diocese JPIC (Justice, Peace & Integrity of Creation) Committee is launching a “Be proud of your Parish” project.  They aim to produce a DVD celebrating the natural beauty of the Killaloe Diocese.  So, they invite you to go out and photograph features of our parish that are special to you.  Send your photos to Fr. Diocesan Pastoral Plan

Some months ago, the Diocese initiated a review of the Pastoral Plan, the blueprint for future change in each of the parishes making up the Catholic Diocese of Killaloe.  Parishioners in Quin-Clooney-Maghera were invited to make submissions to the review team.  The work of this evaluation process has now been completed and copies of the full report may be obtained.
