World Day of the Poor

This Sunday the 33rd in our Liturgical Calendar, marks the ninth year of World Day of the Poor established by the late Pope Francis at the conclusion of the Year of Mercy in 2016. Pope Leo has chosen a particularly meaningful theme for this Jubilee Year, “You are my Hope, Lord” Psalm 71:5 Poverty refers to a lack of the necessities of life, food, shelter and clothing. We thank God for our blessings and pray for a generosity of heart to share with those in need.
