It is 10 years since the Season of Creation began when the late Pope Francis wrote his Encyclical “Laudate Si. This document has guided the Catholic Church and many people of goodwill for the past 10 years in our efforts to care for creation. Here in our parish this year we, Quin Tidy Towns, Clare County Council and our Parish came together to help promote the values of the care of creation in the grounds of our parish church.
Part of the Church grounds have been left to bio diversity to create more opportunities for wildlife to flourish.
Here are 5 ways you can celebrate this season of creation.
1. Pray daily from September 1st to October 4th for the Care of Creation.
2. Conserve water, use only what is necessary. Turn off taps, attend to leaks, no waste of water.
3. Recycle within your house, reduce dependency on plastic.
4. Walk, cycle, use public transport when possible instead of your car.
5. Turn off taps, plug out and replace inefficient appliances with more efficient ones.
