St Monica Wednesday 27th August: St Monica is remembered for her patience and faith in the face of adversity. Monica is responsible for converting her hot tempered, pagan husband, her cantankerous mother-in law and her brilliant but wayward son, Augustine (whose feast we celebrated on Thursday). Monica is the Patron Saint of wives, mothers and abuse victims.
