Our Parish

Mission Statement

The Parish of Quin Clooney Maghera is a caring Christian community, which fosters belonging and participation, encourages creativity and talent, while promoting spiritual development and personal fulfilment.

There are three churches in our parish: St Mary’s Church in Quin, Blessed John XXIII Church in Clooney and St Stephen’s Church in Maghera.

The Parish of Quin Clooney Maghera is in the Diocese of Killaloe and forms part of the Abbey Cluster with the parishes of Ennis, Clarecastle and Doora/Barefield.

Daily Mass: Tuesday to Friday at 10am in St Mary’s Church, Quin. Please note there will be no Mass on Bank Holiday Monday.

St Bridget’s Day

Today Sunday 1st February is the feast of St Bridget, the Patroness of Ireland, a day of celebration of our faith and Irish traditions passed on from St Bridget. The St Bridget’s Cross is a reminder to us of the presence of God in our daily lives and work.

St Blaise

On Tuesday 3rd we celebrate the feast of St Blaise, whose intercession we seek with the blessing of our throats. Blessing of Throats will take place after all Masses this weekend and on Tuesday at the 10am Mass.

This weekend we start our new box of envelopes. Our thanks to the parishioners and team who prepared and distributed the envelopes in recent days. Lourdes Novena

The annual novena to our Lady of Lourdes and in preparation for World Day of the Sick will take place in the Cathedral Ennis from this Tuesday 3rd February to Wednesday 11th February – the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. Refresher Course for Readers

Our thanks to all the Readers from the Pastoral area who attended the course last Tuesday night. For those who didn’t get the chance to attend, the course will be repeated this Tuesday at 7.30pm in St Joseph’s Church Ennis.
