A Word of Gratitude

As our Jubilee year of Hope comes to a close in the coming days, it is an ideal opportunity to offer a few words of gratitude to so many people who make the life of the parish operate so efficiently. Our parish is not a building, but a living body of Christ, a praying community and it is your faith and dedication and generous spirit that gives it life. I thank the many volunteers who give countless hours each week to help with the Liturgy, Readers, Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristans, Altar Servers, Counters, Collectors, Safeguarding Representative, Choirs, Organists, Cantors, Organisers of Eucharistic Adoration, those who prepare this newsletter each week, & to those who serve on both our Pastoral and Finance and Property Committees. We thank both schools in the parish and those who serve on the Boards of Management. We appreciate the work of Principals, Teachers and school staff who help and support handing on the faith. A special word of gratitude to Mary Maher and her family who keep the Parish Office active for all parishioners. As we stand on the threshold of a new year may we be open to the unexpected as it may reveal hidden treasures. May the peace of Christ fill your homes and may we continue to carry the Hope of the Jubilee Year to a new beginning. Tom Ryan CO PP VF, Abbey Pastoral Area
